A Bit About Me
What Got Me Here:

I began my creative journey from a young age by painting with watercolors, oil, and acrylic paint. This gave me a base level, practical experience with color theory. Before realizing I would go into the Interior Design field, my passion grew and I experimented in creating art pieces and even created jewelry from design to completion. I created my own business called "The Steele Artistry" where I sold these items.

As I began working professionally in the design industry, I gained specific color knowledge through my time as an In-Home Color Consultant with Sherwin Williams. Simultaneously, I worked at Calico Corners. This allowed me the opportunity to gain a specialty in custom upholstery and drapery, textiles, and color and pattern compatibility. From there, I interned with my favorite Interior Designer, Laura Umansky, as well as interned and worked professionally at ABModern group. At both places, I grew quickly in my design knowledge and honed my skills with practical applications.

My Design Approach:

Sustainably-enhanced designs that are client- driven but provide innovative solutions that are unique to my creativity. Colorful and powerful statements allow each area to have a focus.

My Design Philosophy:
I enjoy design for the challenge of problem solving, the uniqueness of each project, client satisfaction, and the balance of mixing all design components. I believe that design should be unique to each client, and the client should be presented with ideas that they hadn't imagined. Each space should be thoughtfully crafted with a design concept to tie all the decisions to each other. Design should be as eco-friendly as possible, and should tie natural elements to the client. As a former teacher, I find it important to teach and inform clients of the why and how of a project.
